Common questions
The app is in Polish for now. The menu names below give the Polish label in brackets.
How do I add a thought?
On the Today screen (Dziś) tap the orb and speak: “dentist tomorrow at 9, buy milk, holiday idea”. Let go. Headdrop splits it into entries: a task with a due time, a list, an idea. You can also type (keyboard icon), add a thought from the home-screen widget or use Siri. After your first thoughts you will see an “Added” card (Dodano) with what was made and a “Fix” button (Popraw).
How does the daily limit work?
Every thought the AI analyses and every minute of recording uses part of your daily limit. You see the state under Settings → Limits (Ustawienia → Limity). Longer recordings count more. The limit resets at midnight. When it is used up you can still browse, edit and add entries by hand. Only AI analysis waits until tomorrow. Headdrop Pro raises the limits.
How do I share a list or a note?
- Open the list or the note. Tap ⋯ → “Share in Headdrop” (Udostępnij w Headdrop; in a list: the two-people icon).
- Tap “Send invitation” (Wyślij zaproszenie) and pick the channel: iMessage, WhatsApp, mail. The other person gets a link and a code.
- They tap the link and Headdrop opens. They can also enter the code under Settings → “Join a shared list” (Dołącz do wspólnej listy). They need a Headdrop account. The app is free.
From then on you both see the same list. You check items off and add new ones, by voice too. Changes appear for the other person after a moment or when they open the app. A participant sees only that one list and your first name. You revoke access in the same sheet (“Revoke access”). A participant can leave the list. An invitation link works for 7 days and only once.
How do I cancel my Headdrop Pro subscription?
Apple handles the subscription, so you cancel it in the iPhone settings: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Headdrop → Cancel Subscription. The app opens the same screen under Settings → Headdrop Pro → “Manage subscription”. Pro keeps working until the paid period ends. To avoid a charge after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. Refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Delete account (Usuń konto) → “Delete account forever”. It is immediate and irreversible. All entries, recordings, transcripts and shares disappear. Lists you shared disappear for the participants too. Backups are cleared within 14 days. Events written to your iPhone calendar stay in the calendar. If you have a subscription, cancel it first in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the account does not turn it off.
How do I get a copy of my data?
In the app: Settings → Account → “Download your data” (Pobierz swoje dane). Headdrop prepares a ZIP and opens the share sheet. You can keep it in Files, mail it or send it over AirDrop.
Inside: notes.json with every entry, each entry as its own Markdown file under notes/, your recordings under audio/ (the ones still on the server) and a README.txt that explains the rest. Lists shared with you by other people are not included: that is their data. The export runs once every 10 minutes.
A single note or list can also be sent as text (⋯ → “Send as text”, Wyślij jako tekst). If you would rather get a copy from us, write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of the Apple account you sign in with. If you use “Hide My Email”, write from the Mail app on that iPhone. We answer within 30 days at the latest.
Why was my recording rejected?
- “Recording too short.” Hold the orb for at least a second and speak clearly.
- “I didn’t hear anything.” There was no speech in the recording, only silence or noise. Check that no other app is holding the microphone and that Headdrop may use it (iPhone Settings → Headdrop → Microphone).
- “Recording too long.” One recording can be at most 15 minutes. Split a longer thought into several.
- Daily limit used up. Recording minutes return at midnight. Meanwhile you can type the thought or upgrade to Pro.
- No network. The recording waits in the app and is sent when the connection returns. Do not record it again.
Reminders do not arrive
Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Headdrop (allowed, on the lock screen). In the app, check Settings → Notifications (quiet hours). A Focus mode can hold them too. Reminders go to the device you last signed in on.
